Job Description

Assume responsibility for all personnel supervised, the quantity and quality of their work, and the implementation of all relevant policies and procedures. Take initiative in identifying problems and opportunities for involvement, propose action to be taken, and promote productivity and efficiency. Motivate staff, observe deadlines and ensure that client needs are met. Directly supervise up to 12 employees in the Manufacturing Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review proposals to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolve worker grievances and review grievances with Operations Manager.
  • Compile, store, and retrieve production data.
  • Provide staff with technical assistance.
  • Keep abreast of new techniques, procedures, and materials in the exhibit production field.
  • Cultivate and promote safe working environment.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 to 5 years of supervision experience required. Carpentry knowledge and experience preferred. Must be certified in First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain) and maintain certification. You should be proficient and comfortable with computers and demonstrate proficient oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 65 lbs. frequently; and up to 100 lbs. occasionally. Forklift experience/certification is a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
